Those fucking bastards at AMA! I'm gonna personally go down to their nice little organized office in Calgary with the chit chat about comp parties and poor maps and lots of service charges and kiss them right on the lips! I'm going to beg to join their team, and to join their lifestyle of office parties, cheap booze and weekends out of town. I'm gonna have sex with the lovely young man who works in licensing and it's gonna be be fantastic. There will be rumours among our co-workers but we won't care. It's not like those people know anything about me at all. But at least I can be solaced by the realization that it is only I, the Trickster that has seen what the future truly holds. The end result was pre-determined by fate of course. That is, until I intervened and met fate head-on.

Food post!

I've been mostly at home this last week, avoiding going out to spend multiple hundreds of dollars on furniture and accessories for the new apartment like I really want to do. It feels like every time I go outside to do an errand or even just walk around, I end up spending $50-$100.

So instead, I've spent some time holed up in the birdhouse (I'm trying out new nicknames for the pad) teaching myself photoshop and cooking.

Here is part of my spoils... a pretty delicious smoked meat sandwich from the deli across the street. Ok, so this isn't home cooking, but it was lunch on the run, and all I had time to do was photograph it, and eat it. Apparently the meat is flown in daily from Montreal... which doesn't do much for my carbon footprint, but was tasty nonetheless. At almost $10 a pop though, I probably won't be a regular at the deli.

This was a nice meal of roasted potatoes, onions and garlic, with a brown rice and cabbage salad that had a bit of hot salami chopped up in it. Good use of leftover rice and such. I could easily have left out the salami and used black beans or lentils or even tofu in the salad.

And lastly, my lunch today was salami, greens and goat's cheese on fresh multigrain. I believe my search for really really good bread may be over. Terra Bakery on Granville Island has a large variety of great breads.

Shut the fuck up!

I might just start reading this guy's blog called STFU Marrieds instead of trolling through my own Facebook newsfeed everyday. This guy has the distillation of all the inane, absurd, self-indulgent and just plain lame wall posts and status updates. It is a constant reminder to always be vigilant with ones online identity.

News

This isn't meant to be a web-news kind of blog, but this story is pretty big. Like the biggest discovery in our lifetime, quite possibly. It may make the term "missing link" obsolete!?

This story explains the discovery of a skeleton of a lemur-like creature that could the the ancestor to all of us human animals.

This is from a nice site called One Trick Pony.
